I don't believe that money should be a taboo subject. Who cares how much or how little you're worth? You're value as a person isn't linked to your bank account and debt, and this is why I've got no shame in sharing the intimate details of my financial situation in hopes of helping others and documenting my progress.

My name is Jessica. I've got a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture degree, a Master of Architecture degree, and a lot of debt to show for it. Owing the government $54,000 right out of school is a burden that affects my daily life. I'm not sure I understood this when I took out the loans, but If I could go back in time and do everything over with the knowledge I have now, I'd probably do it all again, just smarter.

I began to become financially literate around the age of 18, and since then I've become almost obsessive about increasing my depth of knowledge to better my situation. While I have no real qualifications as a financial advisor, I hope that my journey will help to educate others about the things I've learned over the years.

WHO AM I?

WHAT AM I DOING NOW?

I live in beautiful Southern California. I work full time at an architectural design studio, and freelance part time for a friend doing archtiectural graphics, renderings, and design. I spend my free time playing video games, volunteering for the San Diego Architectural Foundation, volunteering as an Cat Companion at the San Diego Humane Society, lounging around, and partaking in activities in the San Diego area. I've got a wonderful boyfriend and group of friends that have continued to support me in any and every way possible.

Join me as I fight for my financial freedom.
